Las Vegas, NV (October 10, 2018) – An elder motorist was killed in a two-vehicle crash in the west valley Wednesday morning, October 10th, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said. The incident occurred just before 9 a.m. near Lake Mead and Sun City boulevards when the driver of a 2018 Dodge Charger, an unnamed 78-year-old man of Henderson, was traveling westward at the intersection.

A teenager driver of a 2005 Toyota 4Runner was heading eastward and suddenly came directly into the path of the Dodge vehicle, police said.

Police and emergency responders arrived at the scene, and transported the Henderson man to University Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The teen driver sustained only minor injuries, according to Metro Police. Alcohol or drug use was not suspected to be a factor in the crash. Police continued to investigate the incident. The deadly crash marks the Metro’s 108th traffic fatality of the year.
