9-Year Old Boy Struck and Killed in the South Valley

A 9-year old boy was killed after he was struck by a vehicle as he rode his bike home near a middle school in the South Valley on Friday afternoon, Mar. 23rd. Las Vegas Metropolitan police responded to reports of a collision between an SUV and a child pedestrian on a bike sometime around 2:30 p.m. near the intersection of Jack Leavitt Street and Riverdance Avenue which is next to Charles Silvestri Middle School. According to LVMPD Sgt. Paul McCullough, the 9-year old boy was riding his bicycle traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of Riverdance Avenue.

Woman Arrested in Connection with Fatal Hit-and-Run in Henderson

Henderson Police have arrested a 27-year old woman in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that left a 21-year old woman dead in Henderson on Mar. 7th. According to Henderson Police, the incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. when officers responded to reports of a non-responsive female lying in the road at the intersection of Galleria Drive and Ward Drive near Boulder Highway. Clark County Coroner’s Office identified the woman as 21-year old Wendy Rodriguez Figueredo.

Pedestrian Struck and Killed in North Las Vegas

North Las Vegas Police department is investigating the death of a 34-year old woman who was struck and killed by a vehicle in North Las Vegas Friday morning, Mar.9th. The incident occurred sometime around 9:00 a.m. when North Las Vegas police dispatchers received reports of an auto vs. pedestrian collision that had occurred on Martin Luther King Boulevard and Gowan Road, near Cheyenne Avenue. Authorities say that the preliminary investigation shows that the pedestrian is believed to be at fault as several eyewitnesses saw the female pedestrian trying to dart across the street against a red hand signal. A Dodge SUV attempted to stop but was unable to and struck the pedestrians.

1 Dead and 1 Critically Injured in Rollover Crash on US 95

Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal collision on the U.S. 95 in west Las Vegas that left a woman dead and another critically wounded Wednesday morning, Mar. 7th. Nevada Highway Patrol responded to reports of a single-vehicle collision at 4:45 a.m. on the southbound U.S. 95 near the Rainbow Boulevard on-ramp. According to Trooper Jason Buratczuk, a Chevy Trailblazer with 2 occupants had rolled over blocking 2 left lanes on southbound U.S. 95. A woman was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.

3 Motorcycle Deaths in 3 Days in Las Vegas

A string of motorcycle collisions over a 3 day period this weekend on Clark County roads has led to 3 confirmed deaths by Clark County Coroner’s bureau. The 1st motorcycle collision occurred Friday evening at 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of South Durango Drive and West Sahara Avenue when the motorcyclist collided with an SUV. At this time, North Las Vegas police are not certain why the motorcyclist crashed but have not ruled out drugs or alcohol as a factor in the collision. The motorcyclist was later identified as 36-year old Timothy Swain. He was transported by ambulance to University Medical Center Trauma care in critical condition. He later succumbed to his injuries and died about 3:40 p.m. Sunday afternoon. No fatal accident report has yet been released by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Family Pleads for Public’s Help Finding Hit-and-Run Driver

The mother of a teenager from Las Vegas who is struggling to recover following being sideswiped and run off the road in an apparent road rage incident in Summerlin, is asking for the public’s help to identify the suspect. The incident began on Monday just before 2:00 p.m. when Elizabeth Vinson was driving on the 215 Beltway between the Charleston and Sahara exits. That’s when a white Nissan sedan with paper tags came speeding up to driver’s side of Vinson’s vehicle and ran her off the road. Vinson swerved off the road, rolled into a rock embankment, and crashed into a chain-link fence with her vehicle coming to rest on its roof. Nevada Highway Patrol dispatchers captured the panicked calls in the aftermath of the crash. “I just witnessed a really bad accident. The car is flipped upside down,” said one caller.

Man Runs over Girlfriend near Las Vegas Sign

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is commending a limo driver and his passengers on Wednesday for their involvement in stopping the driver of a van, who was later identified as John Treese, from fleeing the scene of an apparent intentional hit-and-run of Treese’s girlfriend that happened on Saturday night, Feb. 18th. According to LVMPD arrest log, a limo driver had witnessed the events while on duty with 2 passengers. The limo driver said he saw the Treese’s girlfriend, identified as Lisa Gori Snyder, exit the suspects van, and walk along the median on Las Vegas Boulevard and Russell Road near the famous “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign.
