The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a fatal collision involving a wheelchair-bound pedestrian and a pickup truck near the intersection of Desert Inn Road and Eastern Avenue Monday evening, Nov. 20th. According to LVMPD Fatal Detail unit, evidence at the scene and a witness statement say the pedestrian in the wheelchair was crossing several lanes of traffic on Desert Inn Road, outside of a marked crosswalk, when he was struck by a 2003 Cadillac Escalade EXT truck traveling eastbound on Desert Inn Road just before 7:30 p.m.
A 3-year old girl is dead and 3 other children were injured when the driver of the semi-truck reportedly made an illegal left turn resulting in a crash on northbound Interstate 15 (I-15) Sunday afternoon, Nov. 19th. Nevada Highway Patrol were summoned to respond to an accident involving a blue Volvo semi-truck hauling a trailer and a red 2005 Kia van around 4:00 p.m. near mile marker 77 on I-15 in the Moapa River Indian Reservation.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating whether speed factored into a fatal motorcycle crash that left a 32-year old man dead in the northwest valley Thursday night, Nov 9th. The incident occurred when LVMPD officers responded to a single-vehicle collision in front of Hecklethorn Elementary School, 5150 Whispering Sands Drive, near Jones Boulevard and Grand Teton Drive, just before 11:00 p.m.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a 2-vehicle collision in the west valley that left 2 women, both from Colorado, hospitalized, 1 in critical condition early Monday morning, Nov. 13th. The incident occurred just after 3:00 a.m. at the intersection of Sahara Avenue and Durango Drive and involved a Chevrolet Suburban and Pontiac G6. The Pontiac G6 was traveling east on Sahara Avenue when it was struck on the driver’s side by the Chevy Suburban that ran a red light at the intersection. The impact sent both vehicles into the intersection. LVMPD officers arrived to find the two female victims trapped inside their vehicle. Las Vegas Fire & Rescue Department arrived to extricate the 2 women using the Jaws of Life.
The Carson City School District Superintendent has released a statement after 7 teenagers were hospitalized after a single-vehicle roll over crash n Kings Canyon in Carson City Thursday night, Nov. 9th. The incident occurred just before 11:00 p.m. when Cason City Sheriff’s Department was summoned to respond to a single-vehicle collision. Sheriffs arrived to find 7 teenagers inside a Dodge Nitro SUV which had been involved in a roll over. 5 teens were not wearing seat belts, 2 were ejected with life-threatening injuries.
The Clark County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of a 51-year old pedestrian who was critically injured following a pedestrian-vehicle collision that occurred in the central valley on Oct. 20th. The driver who fled the scene after hitting the pedestrian still remains at large. The initial crash occurred Friday Oct. 20th at around 10:00 p.m. when according to evidence gathered by Collision Investigation Section of Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department indicate Anibal William Cabrejos-Villarroel was pushing a shopping cart on E. Desert Inn Road.
A teenage boy is expected to survive after he was struck by a small SUV and dragged more than 300 feet in the west valley Monday afternoon, Oct. 31st. The incident occurred shortly after 3:15 p.m. when Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers were summoned to respond to a pedestrian-vehicle accident near the intersection of West Charleston Boulevard near Indigo Drive near South Hualapai Way. According to LVMPD officers’ preliminary investigation, the vehicle, a small SUV, was turning right onto Charleston Boulevard from the southbound lane on Indigo Drive when he was struck the 14-year old boy who became trapped underneath the SUV and dragged him more than 300 feet before the vehicle stopped. Evidence suggests the boy was in a crosswalk on Indigo and the SUV had the right of way.
