Las Vegas, NV – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is reporting that an officer was involved in a roll-over crash early Thursday morning in Spring Valley near West Tropicana Avenue and South Rainbow Boulevard. Police statements indicate that the officer was responding to reports of a person with a gun when he activated his lights and began cutting across traffic. The officer then collided with a driver of a Mercedes-Ben as the driver failed to notice the officer weaving through traffic. Although the police cruiser was overturned, both occupants did have any major injuries. The officer was later transported to a nearby medical center for treatment of slight pain. Metro traffic officials closed the intersection during the investigation as well as roads nearby. Hours later the intersection was reopened and the flow of traffic resumed as usual.
