Las Vegas, NV - Teen Boy Struck and Killed on US 95 Hwy

Las Vegas, NV (August 20, 2018) – A teenage boy is dead when he was struck by a vehicle on US 95 Highway after exiting a moving vehicle in Las Vegas Monday night, August 20th. According to Nevada Highway Patrol, the incident occurred just after 9:10 p.m. as the teenage boy was inside his family’s vehicle traveling northbound on US 95 highway. Witnesses said the teenage boy exited the vehicle between Decatur Boulevard and Jones Boulevard where he was subsequently struck by a vehicle. The driver of that vehicle did not stop and fled the scene authorities said.
First responders arrived and pronounced the teenage boy dead at the scene. Highway Patrol spokesman Travis Smaka said, “At this time we’re not certain what his actions were while in the travel lane.” Detectives do not have a description of the vehicle that struck the teenage boy but investigators to the case said they will review traffic camera in the area. The incident closed the northbound 95 highway for several hours as investigators and cleaning crews worked, the highway was reopened sometime after 1:30 a.m.
