Las Vegas, NV (August 3, 2018) – A 64-year old woman was killed following a single-vehicle collision in West Las Vegas early Friday morning, August 3rd. The incident occurred just after 3:30 a.m. when Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department dispatchers received reports of a single-vehicle collision involving a yellow Porsche Targa. According to LVMPD officers a 1997 Porsche Targa was traveling westbound on West Flamingo Road at excessive speed heading toward a roundabout near Granite Ridge just after South Town Center Drive.

As the Porsche approached the roundabout, the driver was unable to negotiate the curve in the roadway and struck the roundabout curbing, which caused the Porsche to roll overturn. The Porsche rolled-over twice before coming to rest on the north side of the roundabout. First responders arrived to find the driver, identified as 22-year old Luke Rosseveare, inside the vehicle and suffering from minor injuries sustained in the crash. A female passenger, identified as 22- year old Melanie Rider of Las Vegas, was found in the passenger’s seat also suffering from minor injuries sustained in the collision. A 3rd passenger, identified as the 64-year old woman, was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected from the Porsche. She was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders. The driver and passenger were transported via ambulance to University Medical Center where they were treated for their injuries. Authorities said that Rosseveare exhibited signs of impairment and was also not wearing a seatbelt. He was arrested following being discharged from UMC and was booked into Clark County Detention Center. This was the 79th Traffic-related death in Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction since the beginning of 2018.
