3 Pedestrians Injured in Hit-and-Run in Las Vegas

Las Vegas, NV (April 7, 2023) – Three pedestrians were injured in a hit-and-run crash in Las Vegas on Tuesday morning, and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) is now investigating the incident. At around 11:48 a.m., the LVMPD received reports of a crash involving a vehicle and three pedestrians near Las Vegas Boulevard and Owens Avenue, according to police officials.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers found three individuals with minor injuries, and the vehicle that was involved in the crash had fled. LVMPD is now actively searching for the suspect responsible for the hit-and-run. As a result of the incident, southbound traffic on Las Vegas Boulevard was temporarily re-directed at Owens Avenue while police continued their investigation.
The identities of the victims and the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run have not yet been released. It is also unclear at this time whether the incident was captured on any nearby surveillance cameras or if there were any witnesses who may be able to provide additional information about the incident.
Hit-and-Run Crashes Are Common In Las Vegas
Hit-and-run crashes have become increasingly common in Las Vegas, and authorities have been stepping up their efforts to combat the problem. In 2020, there were 37 hit-and-run fatalities in Clark County, up from 28 the previous year. LVMPD and other law enforcement agencies have been urging drivers to stay at the scene of an accident and to call for help if anyone has been injured, rather than fleeing in an attempt to avoid responsibility.
Anyone with information about the hit-and-run incident is encouraged to contact the LVMPD immediately. The department is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect responsible for the crash.
