LAS VEGAS, NV (September 1, 2022) – Late at night on Monday in Las Vegas, a hit-and-run driver struck and seriously injured a pedestrian. The September 5 crash occurred on Cobblestone Avenue, close to where Westcliff Drive and Rainbow Boulevard are located.

The time was roughly 10:00 p.m., Metro police said.

According to authorities, the pedestrian was walking on Cobblestone Avenue, not within a crosswalk, when a vehicle struck the pedestrian.

The person who was driving the vehicle--described as an SUV, light in color--fled the crash site without helping the victim.

Responders transported the patient to University Medical Center. The patient suffered injuries that were described as life threatening.

The identity of the victim--including name, age, gender, and city of residence--has not been reported.

Investigators are searching for the vehicle involved in the crash, and the suspect hit-and-run driver, who has not been described.
