Yans Luis Zayas Serrano killed Crossing Warm Springs Road in Las Vegas

Las Vegas, NV (May 17, 2023) – A tragic incident unfolded Thursday night in the southwest Las Vegas Valley as Yans Luis Zayas Serrano lost his life after being struck by a car. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police reported that the incident occurred on May 11. The time was approximately 8:49 p.m. The location was Warm Springs Road, east of Rainbow Boulevard.
A Ford F-150 struck Zayas Serrano near Rainbow Blvd.
According to authorities, a 2020 Ford F-150 was traveling westbound on Warm Springs when Yans Luis Zayas Serrano attempted to cross the street. Zayas Serrano was walking outside of a marked crosswalk. The F-150 collided with the Zayas Serrano, resulting in catastrophic injuries. Tragically, the he succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident.
The identity of Yans Luis Zayas Serrano was released by the Clark County Coroner's Office after his next of kin had been notified.
After conducting a preliminary investigation, the authorities found no signs of impairment.
Upon conducting preliminary investigations, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police determined that the driver of the F-150 showed no signs of impairment. However, a comprehensive inquiry into the incident is still underway.
The loss of Yans Luis Zayas Serrano marks the 46th traffic-related fatality within the jurisdiction of the LVMPD for the year 2023. The authorities continue their dedicated efforts to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision thoroughly.
