East Valley Woman Killed in Tragic Crash

Las Vegas, NV (April 13th, 2023) – A woman lost her life in a tragic accident after being struck by a car while crossing the street in the east valley. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officers responded to the crash that occurred at Pecos Rd. and Zodiac Ct., near Tropicana Ave, at approximately 10:05 p.m. on Wednesday.
The authorities reported that a 2020 Hyundai Kona was traveling northbound on Pecos when a pedestrian outside of a crosswalk suddenly entered her path. The hospital staff pronounced the woman D.O.A. after she was rushed to Sunrise Hospital.
The driver of the Kona, a 40-year-old woman, remained at the scene and cooperated with the police investigation. Although there were no signs of impairment in the driver, it is unclear whether authorities will press charges against her.
The tragic incident marks the 33rd traffic-related death in 2023 for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. The authorities are reminding the public to take caution and follow all traffic laws, especially when walking or crossing the street.
