Police Identify Motorcyclist Killed in Las Vegas Crash
Las Vegas, NV (April 19th, 2023) – Motorcyclist Carey Joe King, 54, from Las Vegas, has been identified as the victim of a fatal crash that occurred earlier this month. The incident also resulted in injuries to three other individuals.
Carey Joe King Was Trying To Pass An SUV When He Met His Untimely Death
According to a statement released by Nevada State Police, the accident took place on April 2 at around 3:08 p.m. on Las Vegas Boulevard and mile marker 8. The preliminary investigation revealed that the motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Las Vegas Boulevard when he attempted to overtake an SUV in a no-passing zone by crossing a double solid yellow line. As a result, the motorcycle collided with a compact vehicle traveling southbound.
Upon impact, King was pronounced dead at the scene after being ejected from his motorcycle. Meanwhile, the driver and passengers of the compact vehicle, all adult females, sustained moderate injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
So far in 2023, there are 16 fatal incidents on record.
The authorities will disclose that this is the 16th fatal incident to be on record in 2023 for the Highway Patrol's southern command. In total, 17 individuals have lost their lives in these accidents.
The police have reminded motorists to observe traffic rules and regulations to prevent such accidents from happening.
