A young girl involved in a pedestrian accident that killed her 5 year old sister is making progress towards a full recovery.

Six months ago, Alyssa Decker and her sisters Amelia and Rain Mowery were returning home from school when they were all hit by a car in the intersection of Bent Arrow Drive and Camino Eldorado, which killed Amelia and severally injured the other two.

6 year old Rain was able to make a full recovery after the accident, and now Alyssa, who was not expected to live after the accident, is making strong progress as well. After spending weeks in the hospital in critical condition she is now able to walk, run, and jump without any aid.

The crosswalk where the tragic accident took place now features flashing lights to better alert drivers of pedestrians in the area.
