Wayward Dog Found After Accident
March 7, 2012 | Car Accident
A dog that ran from a fatal car accident in December was reunited with its owner over the weekend.
On December 27, a single car accident on Interstate 80 put 48-year-old Barbara Bagley and her 55-year-old husband Brad Vom Baur in the hospital. Two dogs were also in the car, a sheltie which was killed in the crash and a 4-year-old Shetland sheepdog names Dooley that lived, but ran away.
Barbara suffered a concussion, broken ribs and wrist, and two punctured lungs as a result of the accident. Her husband died from his injuries.
An initial search for the dog was quickly called off, and was only reissued when a dog similar to Dooley was spotted near Battle Mountain in February. Eventually the dog was found, and Barbara and Dooley were reunited.
