Victims Identified in DUI Collision that Killed 2 near The Strip

September 29, 2017 | Car Accident

2 men who were killed during a fatal DUI collision early Saturday morning have been identified. The Clark County Coroner’s Bureau identified 56-year old Alexander Rousakov of Las Vegas, and 36-year old Alexander Ridley also from Las Vegas. The incident occurred around 3:00 a.m. when Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officers were summoned to respond to a fatal collision involving 2 vehicles at the intersection of Spring Mountain Road and Polaris Avenue. Investigators say that evidence at the scene and witness statements indicated that a Dodge Charger was traveling west on Spring Mountain Road when it entered the intersection with Polaris Ave on a red traffic signal.

A Ford Fiesta was traveling south on Polaris Ave and was crossing the intersection with Spring Mountain Road when it was impacted on the left side by the front of the Dodge Charger. Rousakov, who was driving the Ford Fiesta and Ridley, his passenger, were pronounced dead at the scene by first responders. The suspected drunk driver, identified as 33-year old Patrick Lacy Jr. was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries and was subsequently booked at the Clark County Detention Center on 2 counts of driving under the influence of alcohol. LVMPD officials said that Lacy had been driving aggressively on Interstate 15 and exited just before the fatal collision. Lacy was on probation for an attempt to conceal and carry a firearm or other deadly weapon. In June, Lacy sought the court's permission to use medical marijuana without violating the terms of his probation. That request was denied.

In Clark County, fatalities related to driving under the influence were down just over 20 percent compared to this same date last year, according to figures released Friday by the Office of traffic Safety. The results are similar statewide. This is the 94th and 95th traffic-related fatality in Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction since the beginning of 2017.
