A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle who neglected to stop at an intersection in Las Vegas early Monday morning.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, a male pedestrian was walking through the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Harmon Avenue when a vehicle failed to stop and drove through the intersection, colliding with the man.

The man was taken immediately to University Medical Center for treatment; he is listed in critical condition with serious head trauma.

After the collision, the vehicle drove off and is still at large.

Traffic has been restricted in the intersection as local police investigate the cause of the accident and motorists are being encouraged to avoid the area.
