Two unrelated accidents along South Loop 571 sent three Henderson teenagers to the hospital Wednesday afternoon.

The first accident was reported at 7:56 a.m. at the intersection of the Loop and Farm-to-Market Road 13, as a 2000 Chevy 1500 driven by 19-year-old Dewane Jimerson heading eastbound crashed into a 2010 Ford F-350 travelling northbound after failing to yield the right of way to the oncoming vehicle.

Jimerson’s truck crashed into the side of the Ford truck, piloted by 52-year-old Jose Encarnacio. The teenaged miscreant was then taken to ET Medical Center and issued a citation for failing to yield the right of way at a stop sign. No one in Encarnacio’s truck was injured in the crash.

Shortly thereafter, police were called back to South Loop for another accident at 2 p.m. as 18-year-old Terry Himelright was making a pass on a pickup truck in a no passing zone, forcing him into oncoming lanes to complete the maneuver.

This put the dangerous driver directly in front of a van traveling in the opposite direction. Himelright swerved to avoid the van and crossed over a private road before rolling down into a concrete drainage ditch.

The vehicle rolled three times before coming to a stop on its top. The teenaged driver and a passenger in the vehicle were immediately taken to ET Medical Center for treatment.

At this time the condition of all three teens booked in the hospital are unknown.
