Three Teenagers Die in Car Wreck
February 12, 2012 | Car Accident
The lives of three teenagers were claimed in Rusk County on Saturday when their vehicle shot off the road and crashed into a tree, according to the police report.
The teens were driving a 2003 Ford Mustang driven by a 19-year-old man from Henderson named Blake Elliott Winfrey. The car was traveling north on Texas Highway 42 when the car crashed.
The vehicle apparently veered into the southbound lanes, according to witnesses. The Winfrey over-corrected to rectify the mistake and sent the car off the side of the road and into a tree.
The two passengers in the car, aged 17 and 21, were also pronounced dead at the scene. They were both from Selman city.
The accident is still under investigation. Police have not determined if alcohol or drugs was involved in the crash.
