A spelling error capable of making even the most casual writers cringe has been identified in Las Vegas.

Located near Mountain Vista and Whitney Mesa, a school bus crossing sign features a grave misspelling. Reading as “shcool (sic) bus crossing”, the sign went largely unnoticed by commuters and pedestrians who frequent the area.

It has not yet been determined who is responsible for the egregious error, be it the city of Las Vegas or the Department of Transportation, but the issue requires fixing.

Aside from the glaring embarrassment of displaying a sign with a spelling error, one bystander commented that young children may see the sign and think it to be the proper spelling of the word.

City officials are hopeful that the sign still conveys the message to watch out for buses and children in the area, and doubt that such an error will lead to any dangerous vehicular situations.
