Pedestrian Killed on Boulder Highway Likely Attempting Suicide
April 19, 2012 | Car Accident
A man that was killed after walking out into the major highway on Wednesday may have been attempting suicide, according to Henderson Police.
The accident happened at about 1:10 a.m. on the southbound lanes of Boulder Highway. An investigation suggests that the 59-year-old man was not trying to walk across the street, but simply to walk into the middle lane.
The man was reportedly wearing very dark clothing. Investigators are still trying to find people in the surrounding area that may have spoken with the man before the event.
The driver that hit the man, 30-year-old Sasha Harris, was not under the influence of any illegal substances and was not speeding at the time of the accident. A witness to the accident, Johnny Werrera, stopped to help the man when his Ford pickup truck was crashed into by another vehicle that fled the scene.
The name of the man has not yet been released; the Clark County coroner’s office will do so after the family has been notified.
