A pedestrian-auto accident was reported Thursday in Carson City at about 2:50 p.m. The pedestrian , a 71 year old male, died in the accident. The accident happened at 101 Hot Springs Road in North Carson City. The pedestrian was at first trapped under the car. He was removed, ambulatory, and verbal by the time the authorities arrived.

The pedestrian was treated by paramedics and then taken to a local hospital.

The pedestrian was attempting to cross the street in a crosswalk when he was hit by a pickup truck.

The driver of the pickup, 68 years old, was given a citation at the scene of the accident.

The victim died at the hospital at approximately 7:49 p.m. as a result of his injuries.
