One person was killed and another injured when their vehicle collided with an electrical box in Las Vegas Monday morning.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, the accident took place at 9:44 a.m. near the intersection of West Lake Mead Boulevard and North Tonopath Drive when a car drove an electrical box near the street.

Police were first notified of a car driving erratically through the same general area before getting a call about the accident.

The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead on the scene, and a passenger in the vehicle was transported to University Medical Center with injuries that are not known.

The cause of the accident is not yet known, and an investigation is ongoing to uncover if there were any drugs or alcohol involved in the accident, or if it was just the erratic driving.
