North Las Vegas Crash on Commerce Kills One Person

LAS VEGAS, CA (January 20, 2022) – Early in the morning on Saturday in North Las Vegas, a crash killed one person. The January 1 crash occurred on Commerce close to Alexander.
The time was roughly 2:15 a.m., according to police.
Reports say a vehicle--described as a Dodge Dakota--had been traveling on Commerce and heading south. As the driver came toward the intersection with Alexander, the driver is suspected of going into the left turn lane at a fast speed.
The Dodge struck a vehicle--described as a Toyota SUV--that was stopped.
Responders arrived and transported the person who had been driving the Dodge to UMC. He died in the hospital.
He was identified only as in his thirties. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
Investigators believe the man was not wearing a seatbelt when the crash occurred.
No details have been reported on the occupant or occupants of the Toyota. It is not known if anyone else was hurt in the crash.
Investigators are working to understand the crash, and for that effort, they are continuing to collect information and details.
