North Las Vegas Crash near East Cheyenne and Civic Center Seriously Injures One

NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (January 17, 2022) – Late at night on Friday in North Las Vegas, a two-vehicle crash seriously injured one person, and injured two others. The January 14 crash occurred in the vicinity of Civic Center and East Cheyenne.
The time was roughly 11:30 p.m., according to police.
According to reports, a vehicle--described as a Ford Mustang, red in color--had been heading west on Cheyenne. Investigators believe the driver of the Mustang tried to turn to the left to a shopping center.
Reports say the driver of the Mustang is suspected of turning into the path of an oncoming vehicle--described as a Ford Fusion. The Ford was traveling on Cheyenne and heading east.
According to police, the Ford had been going at a fast speed, and the two vehicles collided. The force of the crash threw the person who was driving the Mustang, and a passenger in the Mustang, from the vehicle.
Responders transported the patients to UMC for treatment. According to reports, the person who was driving the Mustang was put on life support; his current condition is not known.
He was identified only as a man in his fifties. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
The person who had been the passenger in the Mustang suffered injuries that were described as not life threatening.
