Multicar Wreck Kills Elderly Man and Woman

Two elderly people were killed and three others injured in a three car crash in Henderson late Saturday night.
According to local police, the accident began at about 11:20 p.m. at the intersection of Sunset and Eastgate roads when a 68-year-old man driving a 1995 Ford Windstar minivan northbound on Eastgate Road struck a Hynudai Sonata.
The collision caused the van to roll onto its side and into the path of yet another vehicle, a Hyundai Elantra, driven by a teenager.
The crash killed the elderly driver of the van, as well as the 65-year-old female passenger. The driver of the Hyundai Sonata, 76-year-old Elfriede Cook, and her passenger were taken to St. Rose Siena Hospital, along with the driver of the third car, 18-year-old Mary Brooks.
An initial investigation into the accident suggests that they elderly van driver was at fault for the wreck.
The names of the elderly victims in the crash have not yet been released by the Clark county coroner’s office, as they are still notifying the families. This is the fifth fatal accident in Henderson so far this year.
