A vehicle and motorcycle collided on Friday, throwing the motorcycle rider off of his bike and into the road, authorities said.

The collision occurred at the intersection of S. Nellis Boulevard and Vegas Valley Drive at around 6:30 a.m. The roads were later blocked off as police investigated the incident.

According to witnesses, the motorcycle collided with the front end of the car while making a turn and was launched off the bike. He was thrown about 10 to 20 feet.

He was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. There is no word as to the condition of the driver of the car.
