Motorcyclist Killed in Two-collision Crash near Silverton Casino

Las Vegas, NV (October 12, 2018) – A motorcyclist died in a crash that involved two other vehicles Friday afternoon, October 12th, Las Vegas Metro Police said. The incident occurred on Blue Diamond Road near Cameron Street at around 4:34 p.m., with two cars and a motorcycle heading west toward Decateur Boulevard. Police said the driver of a Lexus IS350, identified as 35-year-old Sirisack Phommachakr, attempted to change lanes but did not notice the unnamed 52-year-old Las Vegas motorcyclist.
Phommachakr struck the motorcyclist, who was ejected from his Harley Davidson Road Glide which skidded on the ground on its side. The man was then run over by a GMC Yukon, driven by 61-year-old Michael Hanson. The two men remained at the scene and stopped to help the motorcyclist, but he died at the scene. Both were fully cooperative with police, and were not suspected to have been impaired at the time of the crash. Las Vegas Metro Police is continuing to investigate the crash and whether charges will be filed. The incident marks the 110th traffic fatality of the department’s jurisdiction this year alone.
