A man was killed after an elderly driver lost control of his vehicle in a casino parking lot Tuesday morning.

According to the Nye County Sherriff’s Department, a 77-year-old man was navigating his car through the parking lot of the Pahrump Nugget Casino on South Highway 160 when he suddenly lost control of the vehicle and struck several things in his path.

An investigation into the accident showed that the man first hit two parked cars, then struck a 42-year-old man as he was attempting to enter his vehicle.

The vehicle drove over the man and hit another car before finally coming to rest after colliding with the casino itself.

Both the driver of the wayward vehicle and the man he hit were transported to a nearby hospital, but the victim was pronounced dead a short time later.

No one else was injured in the crash, though the damages inflicted on the casino’s wall and the three cars in the parking lot will certainly hurt their owner’s wallets.

There is no word as to what caused the elderly man to lose control and cause such a vast array of carnage in the casino parking lot. Local police are still investigating the accident and are asking anyone with pertinent information to call.
