Las Vegas, NV (July 9, 2018) – A suspected drunk driver was arrested following a hit-and-run after rear-ending a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department patrol vehicle in the east valley Monday morning, July 9th. According to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Lt. David Gordon, the collision was reported to LVMPD dispatchers just after 5:00 a.m. after the driver of a Buick sedan collided into the rear of a patrol vehicle in the 3700 block of North Nellis Boulevard near Cheyenne Avenue.

The driver of the Buick sedan then fled the scene but crashed into a traffic light and came to rest near a shrub near Lamont Street just north of Cheyenne Avenue. The driver was taken to Sunrise Medical Hospital where he was treated for injuries sustained in the crash. He was later discharged and arrested for suspected impairment and faces charges of felony hit-and-run, felony evading police, and felony aggravated assault. The officer in the patrol vehicle was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
