Las Vegas, NV (August 27, 2018) – Federal officials from the National Transportation Safety Board are reporting that a single-engine aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing on Interstate 15 Highway causing traffic to buildup south of Las Vegas Monday morning, August 27th.

According to a preliminary investigation the pilot of the aircraft, a Cessna 150, reported engine problems to the air traffic controllers shortly after takeoff from Henderson Executive Airport around 9:20 a.m. By 9:25 a.m. The pilot made an emergency landing 4 miles south of the Henderson Executive Airport on the southbound lanes of the I-15. Troopers with Nevada Highway Patrol said the plane ran out of fuel, with a student flying the plane with an instructor on board. The plane is registered to Flyboys Nevada LLC, a company based in Henderson.
