Las Vegas, NV (August 21. 2018) – Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is reporting the death of a 96-year old woman who was struck and killed by a vehicle in Las Vegas Tuesday afternoon, August 21st. According to LVMPD officers, a 2001 Toyota Camry that was pulling out of a private driveway and onto the westbound lanes of Sahara Avenue at the same time the pedestrian was walking east on the sidewalk.

The Toyota Camry began to make a right turn and struck the pedestrian. She was later identified as 96-year old Masumi Nakamura of Las Vegas. Nakamura was transported by ambulance to University Medical Center where she was treated for critical injuries sustained during the collision. Investigators were notified Wednesday that Nakamura had succumbed to her injuries. Authorities do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a factor in the collision and the driver was not believed to be impaired. The investigation is ongoing.
