Las Vegas, NV. (May 26, 2018) - A motorcyclist has succumbed to his injuries sustained in a traffic collision that occurred on May 11th.

According to the Clark County Coroner’s office, 25-year old Edward Lima, of Las Vegas, was pronounced dead by medical staff at University Medical Center where he was undergoing treatment for critical head trauma.

The initial incident occurred on May 11th at 8:50 p.m. when Lima was traveling southbound on S. Valley View Boulevard approaching an intersection with El Camino Avenue in a 2007 Yamaha R6 motorcycle. The driver of a 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling northbound on S. Valley View Boulevard where he stopped at a single left turn lane, just south of El Camino Avenue, as Lima entered the intersection. The Chevrolet turned and into the path of the motorcycle causing it to collide with the passenger’s side of the Chevrolet Tahoe. Lima was ejected from the motorcycle and came to a rest in the roadway. First responders arrived and transported Lima via ambulance to University Medical Center Trauma Intensive Care Unit where he was listed in critical condition. Lima remained under medical care until Thursday evening when he finally succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by medical staff. The collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD Collision Investigation Section but LVMPD has stated that the driver of the Chevrolet Tahoe remained at the scene and did not show any signs of impairment. Excessive speed may have played a factor in the collision but the investigation continues.
