Las Vegas, NV (September 17, 2018) – Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said a major crash left 3 people seriously injured, including a 10-year-old boy in critical condition, on Saturday night, September 17th. Paul McCullough, a sergeant with the Metro’s Traffic Bureau, says the crash occurred near East Vegas Valley Drive and South Mountain Vista Street at around 11:30 p.m. An elderly driver of a grey Toyota was turning left onto East Vegas Valley Drive when he was rear-ended by a white Nissan Altima with three occupants.

Various witnesses to the scene told police that the driver of the Altima sped straight through the intersection, driving recklessly at an approximate speed of over 100 mph when the crash occurred. The 62-year-old driver of the Camry was in serious condition. Two of the passengers in the Altima were in serious and critical conditions, including a 10-year-old boy believed to be a relative of the driver. All three injured persons were transported to nearby hospitals. According to McCullough, the driver of the Altima fled the scene on foot, and has not yet been located.
