LAS VEGAS, CA (August 3, 2022) – On Saturday night in Las Vegas, a hit-and-run driver struck and killed a pedestrian. The July 30 crash occurred on West Charleston Boulevard, where Essex Drive intersects.
The time was roughly 9:40 p.m., Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said.
Reports say that according to authorities and people who witnessed the crash, the victim had been walking in the roadway, not within a crosswalk that is marked.
A vehicle--described as a sedan, dark in color--hit the pedestrian.
The driver did not stop to help the person, but fled the crash site.
Responders took the victim to UMC Trauma. The person was pronounced deceased in the hospital.
The identity of the victim, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
Investigators are searching for the suspect hit-and-run driver, and the vehicle involved in the crash.
