LAS VEGAS, CA (March 9, 2022) – Late at night on Tuesday in Las Vegas, a hit-and-run crash killed a person near Las Vegas Boulevard. The March 8 crash occurred at Walnut Road and Gowan Road.

The time was roughly 11:50 p.m., Metro Police said.

Report say a vehicle--which has not been described--smashed into the back end of an SUV that was parked. The SUV has also not been described.

One person was killed in the crash, according to reports, but it is not clear where the victim had been when the crash happened, whether in the vehicle that was struck or outside of it.

The identity of the victim, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.

A person who police suspect was the driver who crashed the vehicle fled the crash site. The suspect was later found by authorities.

The identity of the suspect has not been reported.

Investigators are working on the crash to understand why it happened.
