Katherine Garcia Identified as Passenger Killed in Las Vegas Crash on U.S. 95; DUI Suspected

LAS VEGAS, NV (June 28, 2022) – Katherine Garcia was identified by authorities as the passenger who was killed in a crash on U.S. 95 on June 18. The Saturday crash occurred on the southbound side of the roadway, close to where mile marker 39 is located.
The time was roughly 10:00 p.m., Nevada State Police said.
Garcia had been traveling as a passenger in a Honda Accord. According to authorities, the car spun out and traveled onto the shoulder beside the road and to the center median, and continued up a slope.
The car rolled over, and Garcia was thrown from the vehicle.
Responders pronounced Garcia deceased at the crash site. She was 22 years old.
Nevada State Police arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI. He was identified as Pierre Angelo Betancourt Oliver.
Investigators are continuing their work on the crash.
