Honda Recalls Half a Million Over Headlight Failure
April 4, 2012 | Car Accident
The major Japanese automaker Honda has announced a recall on over 550,000 SUVs in the US over potential headlight failure.
The recall effects CR-V and Piolt models built between 2002 and 2004.
According to a report from Honda, the issue comes from the low beam headlights, which were not given enough slack in the wiring leading to the headlight switch. As a result of this, wires can work their way loose and short out the low-beam lights.

At this time, no crashes or injuries have been reported from this potential danger, however the risk from losing your headlights at night can be a significant, even life ending problem.
Owners or vehicles effected with start receiving notices of the recall in mail beginning in late April.
Your cars headlights are essential. Having them cut out unexpectedly in the night could lead to terrible accidents, even in well-lit areas. Your headlights not only illuminate the road ahead but announce your presence to pedestrians and other motorists who made not see you without them.
