Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal rollover crash near the Valley of Fire/Lake Mead exit on the Interstate (I) 15 just outside of Moapa about 30 miles north of Las Vegas Tuesday morning, Dec. 19th. According to NHP troopers received reports of a single-vehicle rollover crash around 9:45 a.m. on northbound I-15 near mile marker 74, just south of the Valley of Fire exit.

The vehicle, a 2000 GMC truck, is believed to have been involved in a blowout where the driver lost control. The driver, who was not wearing his seatbelt, was ejected from the pickup truck and another person was trapped inside. The Clark County Coroner's Office will release the identity of the victim, pending next-of-kin notification, but NHP reports that the victim was an adult man from Overton. 1 northbound and 1 southbound lane of the I-15 are closed to traffic as troopers conduct their investigation.
