Las Vegas, NV – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is reporting a fatal traffic collision early Thursday morning, July 30th. According to a preliminary investigation, the collision occurred shortly after 4:00 A.M. at the intersection of N. Decatur Boulevard at W. Carmen Boulevard. Eyewitness statements indicated that a silver 2006 Toyota 4-Runner was traveling southbound N. Decatur Boulevard approaching W. Carmen Boulevard.

A silver 2004 Hyundai Elantra was crossing the southbound travel lanes of N. Decatur Boulevard eastbound from W. Carmen Boulevard. A collision occurred when the front of the Toyota collided with the driver’s side of the Hyundai. The driver of the Toyota fled the scene on foot without rendering aid, giving information, or calling police or medical personnel. First responders arrived on scene and pronounced the driver of the Hyundai dead at the scene. The passenger of the Toyota remained at the scene and cooperated with police. They were transported by ambulance to University Medical Center Trauma. The Driver of the Hyundai's death marks the 54th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Jurisdiction for the year 2020. This collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Collision Investigation Section.  Detectives are seeking the public's assistance in identifying and locating the driver of the 2006 Toyota 4-Runner.
