September 21 - A Suspected DUI driver was arrested after she collided with a Clark County School Department school bus Thursday morning, Sept. 21st. The incident occurred shortly after 6:45 a.m. when Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department received calls about a collision between a vehicle and a school bus at the intersection of E. Charleston Boulevard and Lamb Boulevard in Eastern Las Vegas. Officers arrived to find a silver vehicle wedged about halfway under the Clark County School District school bus and a woman yelling erratically at the school bus driver.

According to CCSD officials on scene, no students were on the school bus coming from the Variety school. Police say only three adults were onboard. Authorities determined that a man and his fiancée had been in the silver vehicle when it became lodged under the CCSD school bus and was completely totaled during the collision. Christopher Rodriguez, the fiancé of the woman driver and passenger of the car told officers they were on their way home from work, attempting to turn into the Charleston Gardens apartment complex when this happened. “We were going to make this left but the school bus kind of came out. I’m not sure if the construction was going on or what. It kind of cut us off and we got under the bus. It drove over us," said Rodriguez. Police say evidence at the scene shows the driver of the silver vehicle is at fault. She was taken into custody for suspected impaired driving.
