More than 1,400 residents are doing their best impression of living in the Dark Ages after a car accident left parts of southwest Las Vegas Valley without power.

The accident was reported in the area of South Hualapai Way and South Town Center Drive early Wednesday morning as a vehicle crashed into a power transformer, which cut power to everything in the area.
