Child Hit after Leaving the Library

A child was hit after leaving an east Las Vegas library on Wednesday morning.
The accident was reported to the Las Vegas Metro police around 8 a.m. near the 5100 block of E. Tropicana Avenue just in front of the Whitney Library.
The juvenile was crossing the street with two others when the collision occurred.
The driver stopped after the collision, but left before officers arrived, according to witnesses at the scene.
Police said that it does not appear that the children were in a crosswalk. Witnesses said that the children were about seven to eight years old, although this could not be confirmed.
