Two people, including a man from Las Vegas, were killing in a two vehicle crash Thursday morning on US 93 in Arizona.

According to witnesses to the accident, the collision was the result of an SUV drifted into oncoming lanes and directly into the path of a big rig truck. The drivers of both vehicles were killed in the head on collision.

The driver of the semi-truck was 44-year-old Vegas resident Mark Anthony Santorii, and the SUV driver was a 55-year-old man named Sergio Horco, a respected realtor returning home from a business meeting.

A nine mile stretch of highway has been closed down, between state routes 71 and 89, to investigate the accident. Motorists in the area are being asked to divert to those highways to avoid the scene.

The closure of the highway has reportedly also caused another collision between a car and semi-truck.

At this time there is no word as to what caused the SUV to drift across the yellow line delineating the two sets of lanes. Investigators are looking into all possible factors that could have contributed to the crash, and are asking motorists for patience as they sort out the mess.
