Las Vegas, NV – 1 driver is in critical condition after a 2 car collision in a neighborhood near McCarran International Airport early Monday morning, April 13^th. The collision occurred shortly before 5:00 A.M. near the intersection of South Pecos Road and East Quail Avenue. According to eyewitnesses, the driver of a 2008 Jeep Patriot was traveling northbound on Pecos Road north of Quail Avenue. A 1999 Ford Taurus was seen exiting a private drive westbound onto Pecos Road.

The Ford failed to yield the right of way, entering the northbound travel lanes on Pecos Road in the path of the Jeep.  The front of the Jeep collided with the driver’s side of the Ford. Medical personnel arrived on scene and transported the 28­year old driver of the Ford to Sunrise Hospital, where he remains in critical condition. The 34­year old passenger of the Ford sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Sunrise Hospital. The 34­year old driver of the Jeep remained on the scene and cooperated with police. He did not show any signs of impairment. The driver of the Ford is suspected of being impaired and was booked in absentia to arrest. This collision remains under the investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section.
