Frustrated motorists were forced to sit in traffic for hours after a four car crash clogged lanes along the eastbound 215 Beltway.

The accident was reported by the Nevada Highway Patrol just before 1 a.m., just before the connection to Interstate 15.

At least five people in the crash have been sent to hospitals in the surrounding area, though none of the victims appear to have suffered life threatening injuries.

Multiple lanes were closed down as crews cleaned up the wreckage and investigated the accident. Lanes were reopened several hours later, though traffic in the area remained slow long after.

At this time, it is unknown what led to the major pileup, or what factors could have been in play. Officers are still looking into who was at fault.
