Man in Wheelchair Struck by Car
May 10, 2012 | Car Accident
A man is recovering from serious injuries sustained after his electric wheelchair was hit by a car Wednesday evening in Las Vegas.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, a 63-year-old man was rolling through the intersection of West Charleston Boulevard and Community College Drive when a Lexus sedan traveling east on Charleston crashed into him.
The 28-year-old driver, Jamie Bullock, was entering the intersection on a green light while the wheelchaired man was traveling against a red pedestrian signal when he clipped the back of the motorized chair.
The older man was knocked to the ground and had to be transported to University Medical Center’s Trauma unit with serious injuries.
The man driving the 2007 Lexus LS460 remained on the scene to answer questions for investigators. The whole story of the crash is still being looked into, though it appears Bullock was doing nothing dangerous or illegal at the time of the accident.
