Pedestrian Killed in Weekend Accident Identified
May 3, 2012 | Car Accident
The Clark County coroner’s office has released the identity of a woman who has killed crossing the street at Craig Road last weekend.
58-year-old Becky KunKel, a resident of Las Vegas, was killed after being hit by a Nissan Xterra SUV crossing the street near Las Vegas Boulevard on April 28th.
She was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel, and 54-year-old August KunKul, who was also walking with Becky, was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition.
The two women were not in a legal crosswalk when they were hit.
However, the driver of the SUV, 38-year-old Regina Thomas, was arrested for driving under the influence and was placed into the Clark County Detention Center.
This marked the 45th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan area in 2012, a terrifyingly high number which officials are working hard to put a stop to. To this time, however, the accidents continue to pile up.
