A motorcycle was involved in a three car crash that sent the biker to the hospital on U.S 95 in Las Vegas early Friday morning.

According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the accident took place at 7:30 a.m. near Eastern Avenue on the major roadway, though the specifics of the collision between the motorcycle and the two cars are unknown at this time.

There was no word on whether or not the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet, or what the extent of his injuries. He was transported to University Medical Center.

The occupants of the other two vehicles were not injured.

The accident caused the closure of lanes along the northbound lanes of the major highway as the wreckage was cleaned up. The highway is expected to open up later in the day pending a thorough investigation into the crash.
