Man Jumps from Ambulance, Struck by Car

Police are looking into what caused a man to jump out of an ambulance and get struck by a passing vehicle Wednesday night.
According to he Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, 31-year-old Steven Datu was being transported to a hospital because of possible mental issues when he took off his seatbelt in the ambulance and jumped out of the ambulance.
The driver of the ambulance had reportedly pulled over to the side of the road to help a crew member in the back when Datu ran off.
As the potentially crazy man was running away, he was hit by a white pickup truck at around 12:38 p.m. The man was put back into the ambulance and taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries instead of possible mental issues. He is listed in critical condition.
Police have investigated the accident and questioned a number of witnesses, and there is no word on whether or not any charges will be filled.
