LAS VEGAS, CA (July 25, 2022) – Late at night on Friday in Las Vegas, a driver struck and killed a pedestrian. The July 22 crash occurred close to Desert Breeze Park, on South Durango Drive at Edna Avenue.

The time was roughly 10:19 p.m., police said.

According to authorities, reports say, the pedestrian was not within a crosswalk that is marked when a vehicle--described as a Mazda 3--struck the person.

Responders took the victim to the trauma center at University Medical Center. She died in the hospital.

The identity of the victim, including her name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported.

The driver who was identified as Nick Butila, remained at the crash site. He is suspected of DUI, reports say.

Investigators are continuing to collect details and information about the crash.
