LAS VEGAS, CA (April 11, 2022) – Early in the morning on Saturday in North Las Vegas, a motorcyclist was struck and killed where Ann Road and Allen Lane intersect.

The time was roughly 7:00 a.m., according to North Las Vegas Police.

Authorities said a vehicle--described only as a sedan--had been going north on Allen Lane. The driver of the sedan is alleged to have been driving at a fast speed, reports say.

The sedan's driver went through a light that was red, according to reports. A motorcyclist was going west on Ann Road, and the sedan and the motorcycle collided in the intersection.

According to police, the rider had gone into the intersection when the light was green for him.

Responders arrived and pronounced the motorcyclist deceased at the crash site. He was identified only as in his fifties. His name and city of residence have not been reported.

Police arrested the driver of the sedan on suspicion of DUI causing death. He was identified as Thomas Munoz Jr.

Investigators are continuing their work on the crash, collecting details and information to understand the incident.
